Public Participation

Public input is very important to the discussion and completion of transportation issues and projects throughout the region. The PRTPO is mandated by federal and state law to comply with a Public Participation Policy. The Public Participation Policy describes how PRTPO staff will, to the best of their ability, provide the opportunity for public input and understanding of transportation plans and programs to all residents within the Palouse Regional Transportation planning organization (PRTPO), especially to those persons who have traditionally been underrepresented in the planning process. By law, a 30-day public comment period must occur prior to the approval of the major document (i.e Regional Transportation Plan, RTIP, major changes in policies, etc) by the Transportation Policy Board.
